This announcement is on the Personal Data Protection Board’s (“Board”) Decision, dated 19/07/2018 and numbered 2018/88, regarding “Commencement of Obligation to Enrol In the Registry”.
In General;
Natural or legal persons who process personal data are obliged to enrol in the Registry of Data Controllers (“Registry”) pursuant to Art 16/2 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (“Law”). Also, with the temporary Art 1/2 of the Law, it is stipulated as obligation to enrol in the Registry (“VERBİS”) shall commence with the Board’s decision.
With the Board’s decision, the registration period is determined for data controllers who shall enrol in the Registry.Relevant decision is published on the Board’s website and Official Gazette dated 18.08.2018 and numbered 30513.
