German Competition Authority Bundeskartellamt has taken under scrutiny the fuel prices that have risen sharply due to the geopolitical situation, various market developments caused by the crisis in Ukraine.
The Authority announced that the price developments at petrol stations including several market levels; from the crude oil market to refineries and wholesalers to petrol station operators will be monitored based on the data collected by the Market Transparency Unit for Fuels. At present, the Market Transparency Unit for Fuels receives all the price data from oil companies, but no data on the quantities supplied in each case.
