In June 19, 2020 Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, State Agency of Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization, Ukrainian Association of Telecommunications Operators "Telas", Internet Association of Ukraine , Association "Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine" signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of development of broadband Internet access at transport infrastructure facilities.
It is noted that in accordance with the Memorandum, all its parties will cooperate in the implementation of intelligent transport systems and their creation on public roads of national importance.
According to the Ministry, among other conditions in the procurement of works on the overhaul of these roads, Ukravtodor will ensure the inclusion in the customers' requirements of provisions aimed at developing broadband Internet access, as well as the development of infrastructure needed for cable telecommunication. This will allow the introduction of intelligent transport systems, which are very important for improving transport safety and preventing possible accidents, traffic monitoring and effective traffic management.
