This year, the Netherlands will receive a 62 million euro subsidy from the European Commission for infrastructure projects. For example, there will be 11.4 million euros for the construction of overnight places for inland vessels along the Waal and 6.5 million euros for secured truck parking spaces. To improve rail freight transport, 8 million euros in European money is available for modifications to the railway at Amersfoort and 8.7 million euros for the Theemsweg route in the port of Rotterdam.
