The Moroccan government decided on Tuesday to extend the state of health emergency while easing the accompanying restrictions.
Thus, the state of emergency will be renewed until July 10, 2020, the reduction of containment measures has started from June 11, 2020 depending on the epidemiological situation of each province or prefecture, gradually, in several stages.
Thus, the provinces and regions of the Kingdom are divided into two zones, each comprising a set of prefectures and provinces, according to the criteria set by the health authorities.
Zone number 1, where the epidemic is under control, will benefit from measures to alleviate extensive restrictions (movement without special authorization, reopening of public outdoor spaces, etc.), while they remain more stringent in Zone number 2, which includes most of the major cities in the Kingdom such as Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier or Marrakech.
Note that the classification of flexibility zones will be updated weekly, according to criteria defined by the health authorities according to the state of the epidemiological evolution.
