The Economic Watch Committee (EWC) members held their 6th meeting on Wednesday April 29th, 2020 through videoconferencing.
Following the presentation of the overall economic and financial situation of the country and the progress of the main measures decided during the previous Committee, EWC members defined the broad outlines of the Economic Recovery Plan, which will be communicated before May 20th, 2020 which marks the end of the State of health emergency.
As reported by the press release published by the Moroccan Ministry of Finance, this Plan would lean on launch plans intended for each sector while taking into account its circumstances and characteristics. Once finalized, the sectoral plans will be subject to the assessment of the EWC, who will ensure their consolidation and consistency within the framework of a global Recovery Plan.
According to the same press release, EWC will meet again by videoconferencing on May 8th, 2020 in order to examine the long-term financing solutions adaptable for each sector, accompanied by a reduction in payment terms to support the recovery large companies, SMEs and very small businesses.
Furthermore, EWC congratulated CGEM for the “resuming activity kit” they presented, affirming it would guide companies when implementing preventive and sanitary measures to ensure maximum safety for their employees and customers.
