03/07/2020

In January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky initiated the "Big Construction" plan to repair 4,200 km of roads in 2020. Today, this plan is being actively implemented.

As the head of Ukravtodor noted, "planning for 2020, we went from the general purpose: to repair 24 000 km of roads of state importance in five years. 95% of roads in the country are in unsatisfactory condition, repair is necessary for almost all of them, but it was necessary to define priorities".

When planning the scope of works for 2020, Ukravtodor took into account the master plan of four to five years. A detailed plan for 2021 is currently being prepared. Tenders and project development are already covered next year.

Ukravtodor plans to introduce monitoring and technical supervision of road works of international companies, installation of WiM platforms (weighing device in motion) at key facilities, and assistance in the development of roadside services.

It is planned to attract about UAH 90 billion for 4,200 km of roads in 2020, of which UAH 31.5 billion - from the Road Fund, UAH 19.3 billion - under state guarantees and UAH 35 billion - due to additional budget funding.

At the expense of the Road Fund, the state budget and credit funds, works are currently being carried out on 2,815.8 km of roads. Work on 189 km is underway at the expense of international financial organizations. Tender procedures for the renovation of 1,412.7 km of roads have been announced.
