The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) ruled against six fuel and lubricant companies who were found guilty in the conclusion and implementation of an anti-competitive agreement.
From 2016 to 2019, cartel participants supported prices at 65 auctions for the supply of fuel and lubricants for the needs of state authorities. The total revenue of the cartel exceeded 900 million rubles.
According to the FAS, among the customers of fuel and lubricants, were also utility companies, thus purchasing fuel at an inflated cost could also affect the tariffs for the population. The FAS brought the cartel participants to administrative responsibility and fined them more than 400 million rubles. The FAS also sent the materials of the case to the law enforcement agencies for consideration of the issue of initiating a criminal case.
