People from a select group of countries from outside Europe can travel to the Netherlands again from 1 July. The government has ratified the EU decision on this. The Netherlands will lift the entry ban on July 1, 2020 for the following countries: Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay and China. In all these countries, the health situation with regard to coronavirus is comparable or better than the EU average.
The entry ban will remain in effect for the time being for residents of the United States, Brazil, India, Turkey and Russia, among others. Residents from most Latin American countries cannot travel to Europe yet either. Residents of China can only enter Europe if the country also allows EU citizens.
The list will be reviewed every two weeks, or sooner if necessary, including the number of new infections. That should be in the neighborhood or below 16 per 100,000 inhabitants.
